SARCAN Employee Recognition Day 2016 Wednesday, October 19th, 2016

SARCAN’s annual employee recognition day took place on September 29th, 2016. This year’s event took place in Saskatoon, and SARCAN staffers from all over the province traveled in to the city to take part in the celebrations!

The day was off to a pretty hilarious start when MC Sean Homenick asked for everyone from head office to come and give an update about the work they did that year, with a twist. Everyone who came up to the podium to speak had to do their update with a Donald Trump impersonation! Lots of laughs were had, but it was also a valuable chance for folks from across the province to hear about what kind of things were happening at SARCAN in the 2015-2016 year. We heard about new depots in Buffalo Narrows, Strasbourg, Indian Head and Watson and the expansion of the Regina processing plant. We heard about Telemiracle, safety initiatives and CREW training, all with a Donald Trump accent!

After the update, we broke up into teams and played some games – SARCAN style. We played classics like name that tune, Pictionary and movie trivia, as well as some new games like SARCAN Road Trip, where contestants had to guess which SARCAN community was represented in different postcards. The afternoon portion ended with a field trip to see Saskatoon’s processing plant.

The evening banquet was a lovely affair. We had a wonderful meal, then got to see over 70 employees receive long-term service awards, ranging from 5 to 25 years of service.

Employee Recognition Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our collective success, but it’s also a fantastic time to see all kinds of familiar faces from across the SARCAN network; a chance to see old friends and to make new ones.

We’re already counting down the days until next year’s festivities!
