On December 3rd, the amazing staff from the Turtleford depot hosted a holiday event for children in the neighbouring community of Livelong.  The event featured a free breakfast and activities for kids, all coordinated by the friendly faces at the nearby SARCAN depot. There were over 35 kids that attended! The event was a chance for new families in the area to meet the people in the community and for those who already live there to connect and spend some time together around the holidays.

Activities included face painting, designing Christmas ornaments, decorating cookies and visits with Santa. The most popular activity was a bouncy castle for the kids!

Chris Wilkinson, the depot supervisor in Turtleford, sits on the board of the Livelong Community Association and was extremely pleased with the turnout. "We accomplished what we set out to do, to connect our community members and make it stronger. We can't wait until next year when we get to do it all again," she said. The idea first came to be when fellow board members Shirley Lamouroux and Kyla Millard came up with the idea. When hearing about the idea, the Turtleford staff set to work to create an event that was memorable for all. Way to go, guys!!
